6″ Variable Speed Active Gate Wheel Rotator

The new 6″ Variable Speed Active Gate Wheel Rotator is now manufactured with an Active Gate fitment which means no more cables! They are used with the new [OPTI] Solar LED Projectors and simply slide into the projector as before, without needing to plug them in. They fit into any new Solar LED projector and is recommended for use with the Optikinetics 6 inch Effect Wheels rotating the image from 25 seconds per rotation (fastest) to 4 minutes per rotation (slowest). To use the Active Gate Wheel Rotator with an old-style projector, you simply need a connection cable.

The Optikinetics 6″ Variable Speed Active Gate Wheel Rotator is often used with image altering Effect Wheels like distortion wheels fitted in front of the main effect being projected. For example, a Distortion Wheel fitted into the Front Gate of the Projector, closest to the focusing lens, in front of the main effect like a pictorial Effect Wheel creates a gently undulating effect similar to waving, flickering or being underwater. Perfect Wheels for this are the 6 inches Deep or Fire or Flags Wheels. The 6-inch Mild Distortion Wheel also works very well to distort single image gobos, making them appear as if projected underwater.

Other fantastic effects that can be created using a Medium Distortion Wheel on a 6″ Variable Speed Active Gate Wheel Rotator include Light Reflected on Water (using a Heavy Distortion Wheel in the Rear Gate, closest to the lamp, on a 1/2rpm 6-inch Wheel Rotator) and; flickering Sunlight through Trees (using a Dot Beam Wheel in the Rear Gate, closest to the lamp, on a 1/2 rpm 6-inch Wheel Rotator).
